Capacity Building

Success of the guidelines depend on their effective implementation which includes plans for developing programs related to capacity building, training, handholding and towards sensitization of the departments in the adoption and implementation of these guidelines.

NIC has undertaken Capacity Building initiative to provide nationwide trainings/workshops to sensitise different stakeholders with respect to compliance of GIGW.The Training and Workshop curriculum has been diligently prepared, understanding the functions which play a critical role in website development life cycle. The training programme focuses on three different levels:

  • Leadership Level: The target audiences for this exercise are members at the top management level. The duration of this training will be half day. The training will focus on Overview of Guidelines for Indian Government Websites and Website Management.
  • Intermediate Level: The target audiences for this session are the Team Leads or middle management level. The duration of this training will be one day. The training will focus on Design and Development of websites.
  • Execution Level: the target audiences for this session are members of execution team, web managers and other implementation related resources. The duration of this training will be two days. The training will focus on Design, Development, Website Promotion, Website Management and Compliance Matrix. First day and first half of the second day shall be theory session while second half of second day shall include hands on training related to use of testing tools etc.
